拉斐爾陳列室原本是教皇朱利亞斯二世的私人寓所，1508年，拉斐爾帶著他的學生重新設計，牆上的濕壁畫是設計的重點，也是觀賞的目標。雖然這當中有些是出自拉斐爾學生之手，但整體設計確實是來自拉斐爾。這項工作進行了16年之久，拉斐爾在完工前已去世。而這些壁畫反映出拉斐爾對文藝復興時期宗教和哲學的理想。

拉斐爾陳列室有四個房間，參觀順序是
1. Sala di Costantino(Hall of Constantine)君士坦丁大廳
2. the Stanza di Eliodoro (Room of Heliodorus)
3. the Stanza della Segnatura (Room of the Signatura)
4. the Stanza dell'incendio del Borgo (The Room of the Fire in the Borgo)
